Attendance Policy :
Students must be regular and punctual in attendance. Excessive unexcused absence from school is harmful to academic development. On days when it is necessary for a student to be absent, parents are requested to call the school that morning. The student affairs office will accept telephone calls beginning at 7:20 a.m. each morning. All parents will be notifed by a telephone call in the evening of the day of a student's absence. The office telephone number is 02-27071478 ext.120.
Dress Policy :

Yanping students are expected to excel both inside and outside of the classroom. Students are therefore strongly encouraged to be involved in extracurricular activities, which expose them to opportunities to develop and extend skills not normally developed in a traditional classroom setting. Yanping therefore offers a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to students. Some of the activities available to students include speech and debate, newspaper, yearbook, chess club, computer club, math team, and physics club. Some of these activities are taken for credit which counts toward the graduation credit requirement. All activities have meetings and are organized both during and after school.

The school recognizes the rights of students to express their individuality through their attire. It also recognizes the rights and responsibilities of parents to determine the standard of dress for their children. On the other hand, the school has a responsibility to assure that the atmosphere in school is conducive to learning. Balancing these factors, the school adopted a dress policy for students that is quite common here in Taiwan, and sets standards for grooming and appearance during school hours and at school functions. This policy is applicable from grade seven (7) through grade twelve (12). The school expects the policy to be enforced even-handedly at all times and reviewed regularly for reasonableness, consistent with parents’ attitudes.

4.Advocacy of good extracurricular activities with matching results.
5.Gung-ho involvement of patriotic acts.

 8.Compassion for the elderly, the young and the infirm.
9.Courageous whistleblower of egregious wrongs.
10.Turning in valuable finds.
11.Worthy comportment off campus.

Major Merit（大功）
Three merits equal one major merit. Or fulfillment of any of the following categories will gain one instantly.

1.Exhorting others to expand efforts to further the school reputation and following the advice yourself.
2.Reflecting love of school with concrete deeds.
3.Habitual spirit of Samaritanism with excellent result.
4.Good reflection on school by off-campus volunteerism.
5.Revelation with supporting proof of major illegal activities of students.
6.Good deeds the whole student body can model after.

Warning（警告）
Those who violate the following categories will have their shortcoming recorded or be subject to a warning.

1.Minor violation of school regulations.
2.Chronically unmotivated attitudes.
3.Class inattention or dozing.
4.Short-circuiting leave requirements.
5.Spitting anywhere or other loutish behavior.
6.Willful disobedience of classmates' good-will advice.
7.Poorly-maintained uniform.
8.Disobedience of public order.
9.Tardy submission of weekly journal and other homework.
10.Levity during flag-raising ceremony.
11.Minor disobedience of class-adopted guidelines.
12.Unauthorized receipt of personal guests on campus.
13.Indecent frivolous behavior.

 14.Being unenthusiastic in public affairs or team activities.
15.Chewing gum.
16.Carrying drinks, food to the library, or affecting others' reading.
17.Being a passenger on a motor scooter.

19.Pottering around after the class-starting bell rings.

22.Not observing public peace and order, destroying environmental cleanness.
23.Destruction of public property, only to a small extent, but not reporting to the
     authorities concerned.
24.Playing bridge or chess when it is not the time for extracurricular activities.

Minor Demerit（小過）
Those who commit the following offences should be given a minor demerit.

1.Bullying schoolmates or janitors to a slight degree.
2.Leaving the school without asking for leave.
3.Destroying public order to a slight degree.
4.Destroying public property or pulling down or breaking off twigs or branches.
5.Not obeying traffic regulations.
6.Violating examination rules to a slight degree.
7.Reading unallowable books or magazines.
8.Hampering group tidiness or public sanitation.
9.Daubing the wall and destroying public property so that the appearance is destroyed.
10.Absence from important gathering or meeting.
11.Loitering off campus.
12.Discipline section chief's failure to report classmates' fighting or other important events.
13.Writing over the call book.
14.Ignorance of teachers summon three times.
15.Failure to pass uniform inspection three times or four times of record for violation of uniform code.
16.Riding a motor scooter with/ without a license.
17.Failure to report fighting among students to the office.
18.Tardiness to school thrice in one month.
19.Being AWOL from class.
20.Libeling others.
21.Dereliction of sweeping duty two times.
22.Bringing forbidden items.
23.Unauthorized entrance to or exit from school campus.
24.Dying hair, piercing noses and ears.
25.Minor deviation from acceptable behavior.
26.Others.
Major demerit（大過）
Those who commit the following offences should be given a major demerit.

1.Forming a gang and haze or assisting in hazing of schoolmates.
2.Assaulting and intimidating schoolmates to a slight degree
   (more serious degree warrants expulsion.).
3.Disrespectful behavior or verbal harassment to teachers or school employees.
4.Cheating on exams.
5.Committing petty theft.
6.Unauthorized use of parents' seals.
7.Reading forbidden books.
8.Disseminate anonymous scandal sheets or inappropriate political broadsheets.
9.Insolence toward a teacher's directions or suggestions to a slight degree.
10.Evading public service or influence others to do so.
11.Public nuisance off campus so as to defame school's reputation.
12.Drinking and gambling.

 13.Chewing betel nuts.
14.Unconventional access or egress from campus.
15.Patronizing unsavory premises.
16.Recidivist unlicensed use of motor vehicles.

Under high surveillance(probation)（留校察看）
Those who commit the following offences should be put under high surveillance.

1.Recidivistic violations of school regulations.
2.Serious violation of school regulations followed by expression of remorse.
3.Joining gang activities but membership terminated soon after being warned by the school.
4.Hiring proxies to settle disputes with schoolmate.
5.Others that are decided by meeting of Student Affairs Office.
Expulsion（退學）
Those who commit the following transgressions are subject to expulsion from school after due process by Bureau of Education.

1.All of the foregoing transgressions to a serious degree.
2.Repeated violation by a student on parole.
3.A third net major demerit (major demerits minus major merits).
4.Warning about gang membership unheeded.
5.Sullying school reputation or defacing/ defiling school posted announcements.
6.Excessive unexcused absence from class.
7.Destroying ROC national flags.

 8.Lack of public respect for President.
9.Public defiance of government decrees.
10.Consumption of contraband drugs.(e.g. amphetamine..)
11.Carrying concealed weapons to school.
12.Insulting teachers to a serious degree.
13.Battering schoolmates so as to cause grievous bodily harm.
14.Others.
